If, you are interested in taking up shooting as a sport, Northampton Target Sports Club is a good place to start, there are plenty of club rifles and pistols for you to try (use of club rifles/pistols is included in your range fee) and club members are only too willing to show you their latest acquisition. In fact, there is no need to buy a rifle or pistol until you are sure you want to take up the sport and succumb to the dreaded disease ‘shiny new rifle syndrome’. To comply with Home Office rules visitors are restricted to using firearms on specified ‘open days’. There are now such restrictions on air guns and most visitors are quite content to use air guns before deciding to take the plunge and join the club.
